Druids Barrel
WILTSHIRE, UK
As part of a wider project re-designing and styling glamping spaces with Canopy and Stars, Druids barrel is set amongst a gorgeously green Wiltshire backdrop.
The rustic, predominantly wood interior already had heaps of character thanks to the owners craftsmanship and the outstanding landscape outside. From the start the space was a pleasure to work with. Collaborating with the owners and staying true to their style, I sourced materials such as jute and linen in neutral shades complimented by pops of navy and burnt orange to add depth and warmth. I added pottery and stained glass items to further accentuate the hand made and natural feeling. The addition of long life battery mushroom lamps made the powerless space more practical and useable in the evenings as well as adding a small touch of contemporary to balance the design.
The space became somewhere inviting and calm, perfect for snuggling up with a book in front of the wood burner or enjoying breakfast on the decking in the sun - the perfect weekend get-a-way thoughtfully designed in a way to celebrate the outdoors.

CLIENT PROFILE

My client is the owner of Druids Barrel Glamping cabin.
They own a small selection of cabins on their site in Wiltshire, that are rented to the public through Canopy and Stars.
The cabins are set in the rural countryside and are power free. They have hot running water, flushing toilets, log burners and outdoor bath tubs and fire pits.
The client is a carpenter and this is reflected in the space. Clients style is eclectic and crafty, I want to carry this through into the new design while making the space feel more coherent - the clients are happy with this design approach as well incorporating pieces that appeal more to their demographic.
